Learn pottery from scratch this summer
Over four sessions, you’ll build a strong foundation in wheel throwing through a practical, step-by-step approach. No previous experience is needed—we’ll start by preparing the clay and guide you through every stage until you create your first functional pieces.
We work exclusively with high-fire stoneware, a durable clay used to create beautiful, long-lasting ceramics.
Classes are limited to six participants, allowing plenty of individual guidance, hands-on practice, and personalized feedback throughout the course. Whether you’re a complete beginner or have some experience, you’ll leave with new skills, greater confidence on the wheel, and handmade pieces you’ll be proud of.

What does the Intensive Ceramic Course include?
Four hands-on sessions
12 hours of guided practice across four three-hour sessions, designed to help you build confidence on the pottery wheel.
All materials included
High-fire stoneware clay, use of the pottery wheel and tools, plus everything you need during the course
Small groups
Maximum six participants, with personalized guidance and individual feedback throughout every session.
Glazing & firings included
We’ll glaze and fire your pieces in our studio, so they’ll be ready to collect a few weeks after the course.
What will you learn during the course of pottery wheel
A practical and progressive introduction to the pottery wheel
In four sessions, you will learn the fundamentals of the pottery wheel through a clear, progressive and hands-on approach. The goal is not only to create beautiful pieces, but also to understand the process, build confidence and enjoy working with quality materials.
We work exclusively with high-fire stoneware, a durable ceramic material used to create functional, long-lasting pieces.
During the course, you will learn to:
- Prepare and wedge clay correctly.
- Center clay confidently on the wheel.
- Open, pull and shape your first forms.
- Control wall thickness and proportions.
- Trim and refine your pieces.
- Understand the complete ceramic process, from drying to glazing and firing.
- Create several pieces to be glazed, fired and ready for collection a few weeks after the course.

Frequently Asked Questions about the Ceramic Summer Course
Do I need previous experience to take the course?
No. This course is designed for complete beginners. We’ll guide you step by step, from preparing the clay to throwing your first pieces on the pottery wheel.
Are mud and materials included?
Yes. The course includes high-temperature stoneware, all materials and tools, glazing, and both firings. There are no additional costs.
How many people will there be in each group?
Each group is limited to six participants, allowing plenty of individual guidance and time to practice.
When will I be able to pick up my pieces?
Your pieces will be glazed and fired by the studio and will be ready for collection about four weeks after the last session.
Can I choose between the group of tomorrow and the afternoon group?
Yes. You can choose the schedule that suits you best:
- Morning: 10:00–13:00
- Evening: 18:00–21:00
Both groups follow the same program and have a maximum of six participants.
What if I am unable to attend a session?
If you’re unable to attend one of the sessions, you may make up one missed class by joining another pottery wheel class at the studio, subject to availability. Only one make-up session is included.
